Zum :)

Zum just rang me and arranged an interview for Friday. Thank you so much for those who have prayed for me in finding a job, maybe this will be Gods answer. God is truly good, and cares about every aspect of our lives. What a beautiful sustainer of life.

Impersonating??

This is something that a mate of mine raised with me. Is it actually wrong to impersonate people?
Most of the time not in their face of course, but I do it for fun. But maybe it's something I have to actually stop all together. Would you consider this slander? A lot of people find impersonating funny and so do I. But I don't want to face God one day and hear him say "why on earth did you do that'"

Focus Pumpage

Last night we had the awesome experience of witnessing two baptisms at FOCUS (Fellowship of Overseas Christian University Students) We had David Jones come in to do the baptisms. It is so cool to see people at FOCUS becoming Christians, and seeing God pumping this ministry along.
It was a really great night for Focus and of course the two new Christians :) Jessica is from South Korea and Marshall from China.

Music Brezel

Tonight will be our last music practice for the current Cross Roads music team. So I thought why not some Brezels for their hard work. Thanks Nick for the last 2 months of music, I have really enjoyed playing with you guys.

Open church sharing

I know some church's have this as part of their meeting. I actually quite like the idea of open sharing with the whole church, it's encouraging. Hearing peoples struggles and successes how God is working in their life. Though this may only work well in smaller churches.

Melbourne

It's also completely the end of Melbourne as well. I decided that going there probably would have been disastrous. There are too many good things here to just leave. I recently emailed the dude and disqualified myself. How could I possibly give up on TBT.

Croissant

My Aunty came for morning tea this morning, so I thought why not croissants.

TBT has an awesome banner

I don't know exactly where Mikey got this from but it's extremely cool.

The light radiating through!

Dismal

Well I didn't get the job :( :(

Wrest Point feed back

I had the interview on Friday:

The Good
  • I told them of my experience in cookery and strong desire to make pastry, which they enjoyed... probably.
  • My younger brother works as a steward at Wrest Point. So they might be inspired by his knibbe work ethic.
  • They seemed somewhat interested in my pastry making skills at home.
  • They told me to ring them back, so I could tell them if I was still pumped. Normally it's them telling you that they'll ring, which means they won't ring.

The Bad
  • The bad is quite bad.
  • I think I managed to convince them that I wasn't the right dude for the job.
  • I think they managed to convince me that I wasn't the right dude for the job.
  • They asked the most bomby questions in the world.
  • The executive chef was giving me bad vibes and looks.
  • I left the interview feeling taken down and dismal.

I rang the HR lady this morning and expressed interest and passion in the position, regardless of the bad interview vibes. Now I wait and see what happens.

Melbourne takedown

Maybe God is already answering the prayer against the powers of me going to Melbourne. I was supposed to have a phone interview today, but the guy didn't ring up.

Dismal Domino's

Wow! I don't know if I'll be eating Domino's for a while. I just read this shocking story on some Domino's employees.

tbt pumpage

One of the real cool things about tbt(toilet block tuesday) last night that made me so pumped was:
Some guy who turned up came because of the flier he received in his letter box. This was very encouraging to see that the letter boxing we did was definitely worth it. When this guy told me he got a flier in the letter box, I was like.....ride on :P :p :P

Wrest Point

Thankfully God is already answering the prayer wildly. Wrest Point rang me this evening and scheduled an interview for Friday. So all I need now is to convince them that I would be the best. This may prove difficult but thankfully God is on my side! I really don't want to go to Melbourne.

Pray

Please pray that I will get the job at Wrest Point so I can stay here. I'm going to have an interview for the job in Melbourne very soon. I don't want to go to Melbourne :(

Focus weekend away

I just had a weekend away with about 14 people from Focus (Fellowship of Overseas Christian University Students) which was rather awesome. We were at Clifton beach in some shacks. We studied SUS with a group of international students and ate mountains of Korean food which was outrageously nice. Some of the students responded really well to SUS which was very exciting. We watched 'The Passion of the Christ' on Saturday night which is a terribly gruesome watch. But good to remember Jesus wounds for our sakes. I put some photos on the Facebook group Focus

How to hand out fliers well

Nick and I were handing out fliers for Cross Roads good Friday service on mortality. We were doing the top end of the mall in Hobart. Not to criticize brother Nicks style of handing out, but somehow I did manage to get rid of more, hence the post title.
  • Wear Krispy Kreme apparel
  • Make sure you have your Jesus Mojo
  • Greet everyone with the same line

Flier takedown :P :p :P

Job --> Melbourne

As some of you may know, most of you probably don't. I have been looking for a new job of late applying for positions as a Pastry chef. Very recently I applied for a position in Melbourne from which tonight I have just heard back from. The job recruiter has shown some interest in my application. So who knows maybe Ill end up in Melbourne, I hope not. I also applied for a job at Wrest Point with Federal group which I'd rather have. See where God puts me?

Monergism

If you haven't head of this site you should check it out. Monergism is a very cool site. It covers a huge range of christian issues, essays, interviews, reviews, theological insights and a massive range of free Mp3's. There is also a lot of Tim Keller Mp3's on there, which apparently are hard to get as free downloads normally.

Stimulus 900 bucks

Apparently the stimulus money is on the way, and we may receive it sometime this week. I probably wouldn't have voted to do this but I wont complain.

What will you spend it on??

Johnny Cash --> GOD

I just got the Johnny Cash album 'GOD' this album is absolutely gold. If you haven't heard it you should. If your a christian and you like Johnny Cash then you will particularly love this album :D thanks to JB.

Focus again

Last night we had another awesome night at focus, with a really good turn out. We also had the very cool privilege of having a big group of dudes down from SMBC in Sydney. They helped with the bible studies and chatted to the international students. I think God is really using this ministry at Focus this year. It's all very exciting seeing people pumped to know and understand God and Jesus.

Change

I have made some changes to my blog, thanks to AG for his great assistance :)

Mountain Boys

One of the other things we did on the Ross MTS trip was taking some cheeky photos. My good mate Cabernet Leather some time ago created an awesome Facebook group called 'Mountain Boys' the idea behind the group was to display pictures of boys in some sort of modeled fashion. It's called Mountain Boys but alot of the actual pictures are shot at other naughty locations rather than mountains. We had the crazy idea of making a silly calendar with the pics but we sadly decided against it. Come on over to Facebook and check out the action!

MTS Shopfront

Today I went to Ross in the midlands of Tasmania for the MTS (Ministry Training Strategy) Shopfront. It was a great day with a very healthy amount of people attending. Basically it was a day to encourage each other, talk about MTS plans, pray together and read Gods word. We discussed MTS on a national level and a local level which was very cool. We also had the great privilege to have Ben Pfahlert with us who is the national coordinator for MTS. We shared lunch together and had a good time for Q & A with Ben which was rather insightful. It was also an extremely cool venue, behind the Ross bakery in some funky stable like conference hall.

There are a couple more photos on the Ministry Training Strategy Facebook group.
