Conscience Vs Holy Spirit

How does the conscience work with the Holy Spirit? I think everyone is born with a conscience, something that God gave us to give us a sense of right and wrong. But when someone becomes a Christian I wonder wether it's now just the Holy Spirit speaking and convicting us or some sort of interlaced conjunction between the Holy Spirit and our conscience. Or can you say that a Christians conscience has also had a mini conversion. The conscience essentially just becoming the Holy Spirit for us.

Girl Friends??

I wish I understood why girls like hanging out with guys, spending time with them and so forth. Then usually, not always the guy seems to start liking the girl and might want to pursue her. Now the girl and guy might continue hanging out and spending time together and both putting an equal amount of effort and time into the relationship. There might become a point when the guy decides to lay down some turf and tell her how he feels, but to his surprise he gets the "sorry I only love being your friend" Basically the guy totally got the wrong idea about her, he was pretty certain and fairly convinced that she liked him. I just don't seem to understand how a girl could put time and effort into a relationship with some dude she really has no intention of dating. How's the guy ever really supposed to know wether she is pumped for him. She is either pumped for dating or she's pumped to be just friends, but displaying similar actions in both situations. I can assure you I wasn't writing this post all fired up and grumpy, I just seek some answers.

Also does anyone have tips on how to recover the Australian dollar from its slump? This might prove difficult though. O and don't get Clearcom internet it clearly doesn't work.

The Mercury

Boy Pats Kitten

Ten year old Jason Horseshoe of Moonah has been patting his lovely new kitten koko. Jason says that patting a kitten is a very special treat. "I just love to pat my kitten koko and show him real human affection," said Jason. Koko is a fluff mountain breed, "I want to give love back to the cat community in a non threatening way," he said. Jason has been planning patting sessions with other cat lovers from around Hobart and even interstate. At this stage of life koko's diet consists of milk and honey. The fluff mountain breed is mainly found in Northern Australia but Jason was lucky enough to purchase one online. "I used to buy computer games online but now I am addicted to cats," he said. The Royal Hobart Cat Show opens this weekend with over 250 species of cats on display. Jason will be entering his cat koko in the fluff section.

Capital punishment

The recent execution of the master minds behind the Bali bombings brings this law of capital punishment into the spot light once again. I'm always a bit uncertain about what to think about this law. Capital punishment have your say?

I just read this!

How's this for storing up your treasures on earth. I just read that some 90 year old woman in Chicago had been living in her house with her three dead siblings. One of which that had apparently died in the early 1980's. The other two had died more recently. I know this story is a little more on the disturbing side, but it's just such a strange wired thing to do.

1 in 5000 billion million octillion

The amount of information an individual can learn, acquire, study and know, is just so much. There are just billions and billions of things and facts and pieces of information that one could possibly obtain in a life time. Funny thing is, knowing Christ is just one piece of information in the whole swam. But the only piece that is crucial to know. Only one piece! That is truly good information.

Philippians 3:7-8 revisited

Just going back over the words from Phil 3 where Paul mentions that he counts everything a loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ. This is such a challenge, but how can we actually practically live like this, we should consider everything a loss because we know Jesus. It would be so cool to take this passage to the max! But we do need to realise that we can't just abandon all commitments and responsibilities and just go of on some sort of jaunt. I suppose it's some nice balance between living completely for Gods purpose and mission but still living with a responsible attitude to all life's battles.

Interesting ?

Faithful Servants

I was thinking about the parable in Matt 25:21 where it's talking about the master who is rewarding his slaves for their fruit they produced. The slaves were given talents and their master went on his way. Later he returned to settle the accounts with the slaves. One of the slaves had been given 5 talents and he had doubled the amount to 10 talents. The master responds with the words 'Well done, good and faithful slave. This parable illustrates the relationship between us and Christ, the slave was faithful to his master so are we to be faithful to Christ. I can't believe that God could actually say these words to us 'Well done, good and faithful slave' It boggles me to think that the creator of the whole universe would regard us as viable servants. Basically it's God congratulating you for your efforts in being faithful to him and his work. This is crazy, God actually congratulating us! mere humans who caused God grief in the first place. Just goes to show how close our relationship to God can now be, thanks be to Christ. Doesn't this just inspire you to be that good and faithful servant!

Matt 25:21 was taken from the NASB translation

My turn - Our turn

I was just thinking about purpose and the reason why God created me and others. It's amazing to think that in all of history the billions and billions of people that God has created for his glory. Now it's my turn, our turn to bring God glory, what a privilege. Our little time here on earth is just so insignificant and feeble in the grand scheme of history, but that being said shouldn't this just be an inspiration a drive and a hope to forsake everything for the sake of Christ. I was reading Philippians and the bit that caught me out tenfold was 3:7-8, where Paul mentions that he counts everything a loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ. If only my simple mind could understand these simple words :[ this was challenging stuff, praise God!
