New Church Plants

Just some ideas I've had about out reaching to the community with a new plant. Obviously you want the community and the local area to know about the new church and so on. So we need ways to promote it, plugging it, and of course sharing the gospel with the community.

1) Letter box drops are of course a good idea, to simply let them read about it.

2) Maybe a music evening in summer with live music and food, all provided of course. I think this could be a good way of introducing people to the new church in a reasonably relaxed manner. I know this is something that the Richmond church did a few years back.

3) Maybe if you can get hold of a projector somehow, screen an outside movie in summer with popcorn and beer (indoor for winter). Probably letter box drop these events.

4) Door knock in the area and tell people about it.

5) Pray wildly for planned events.

Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
(1 Cor 15:58)

All good ideas. I think doorknocking can be especially good for new churches within certain suburbs; I think a lot of people like the idea of having a friendly church in their suburb - even if they don't attend it. Getting them to attend is where some of your other ideas come in.
