Faithful Servants

I was thinking about the parable in Matt 25:21 where it's talking about the master who is rewarding his slaves for their fruit they produced. The slaves were given talents and their master went on his way. Later he returned to settle the accounts with the slaves. One of the slaves had been given 5 talents and he had doubled the amount to 10 talents. The master responds with the words 'Well done, good and faithful slave. This parable illustrates the relationship between us and Christ, the slave was faithful to his master so are we to be faithful to Christ. I can't believe that God could actually say these words to us 'Well done, good and faithful slave' It boggles me to think that the creator of the whole universe would regard us as viable servants. Basically it's God congratulating you for your efforts in being faithful to him and his work. This is crazy, God actually congratulating us! mere humans who caused God grief in the first place. Just goes to show how close our relationship to God can now be, thanks be to Christ. Doesn't this just inspire you to be that good and faithful servant!

Matt 25:21 was taken from the NASB translation
