It would be cool to have more of these I reckon. I know there was one about 2 weeks ago, where several churches got together and prayed for the mission of vision 100. This is so worth while and just such a positive step in the right direction towards seeing our city changed. Planting 100 new churches seems so daunting at times, but what better way to get people pumped again than to have a mass prayer meeting! God wants to see where serious about this vision, so I'd say these prayer days are joy to Gods ears. Really looking forward to the next one!

What would Mr Meaty do? #2
Mr Meaty is interested in a girl, and may have plans to pursue her. He knows that being single is a very good thing for the advancement and work of the gospel, but he thinks that having a wife may also be an encouragement to him and his mission.
1) Mr Meaty would considered the girl carefully and deliberate over the idea for months on end
2) Mr Meaty would be efficient about it all, make a move towards her and make his intentions clear
3) Mr Meaty would very carefully consider the benefits of being single and compare the two
4) Mr Meaty would desire a relationship to fully glorify God and further the kingdom
5) Mr Meaty would decide to remain single for the meanwhile and serve God in singleness
What should Mr Meaty do in this situation?
Note: these circumstances could be applicable for any Mr Meaty

What would Mr Meaty do? #1
Mr Meaty is at home with not much to do, he has a couple of options of what he could be doing in the next couple of hours.
1) Mr Meaty could watch tv
2) Mr Meaty could read christian blogs
3) Mr Meaty could rot on facebook for some hours
4) Mr Meaty could listen to Mark Driscoll
5) Mr Meaty could read 1 Timothy

Crazy idea?
Recently I have received a lot of those "Thanks for attending our wedding cards" you know the ones with a picture of the married couple and a short note. Well I was thinking it could be a good laugh to send them back a thank you card for being invited to their wedding. You could just have a corny photo of yourself with your dog, and a short thank you note to let them know how special you felt being invited. In theory it sounds funny to do, I don't know if I would actually do it though. But It's just so tempting :]

Money Money Money
Recently I received an email from eBay letting me know that I could list 2 items on eBay for free.
The content of the email consisted of them telling me that most people on average have about eighteen hundred dollars worth of goods that they don't use or even know about sitting at home. There plea was for me to find these goods and list them straight away, so I could make some extra money for Christmas. I wasn't interested in doing this at all, so I immediately trashed it. But later I was thinking about it again for some reason, and I thought yes eBay is right I probably do have a mountain of possessions sitting at home that are somewhat valuable. It made me think wow! I do have so many possessions and just stuff that could quite easily be sold, some potential money just sitting at home rotting with dust. This email challenged me to think about my possessions and how I use them, to the point of selling stuff and using the money for Gods mission. Thanks eBay! Now I need to take a look around and see what I could sell.

New Church Plants
Just some ideas I've had about out reaching to the community with a new plant. Obviously you want the community and the local area to know about the new church and so on. So we need ways to promote it, plugging it, and of course sharing the gospel with the community.
1) Letter box drops are of course a good idea, to simply let them read about it.
2) Maybe a music evening in summer with live music and food, all provided of course. I think this could be a good way of introducing people to the new church in a reasonably relaxed manner. I know this is something that the Richmond church did a few years back.
3) Maybe if you can get hold of a projector somehow, screen an outside movie in summer with popcorn and beer (indoor for winter). Probably letter box drop these events.
4) Door knock in the area and tell people about it.
5) Pray wildly for planned events.
Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

Church Planting??
A couple of questions I have about church planting.
1) How do you know when you are taking a risk for church planting? Or just being foolish or unreasonable? Somewhere those two variables need to be considered.
2) How often should we be church planting? Do we just wait and see our current churches grow and increase in numbers, or should we always be actively seeking new locations and people to plant churches?
3) What are the basic things you need to plant a church? Apart from the obvious ones. People, money, venue etc.
Be cool to hear peoples thoughts on this stuff

Who is Mr Meaty?
I'm going to talk a little bit about Mr Meaty. Well Mr Meaty doesn't actually exist as a person. but he can exist if you want him to. Basically Mr Meaty is a Godly man who fears, loves, serves and praises God in all things. Here I'm talking especially to single men in particular but it should be for all christian men really. 1 Cor 7:17 "Nevertheless each one should retain the place in life that the Lord assigned to him and to which God has called him. This is the rule I lay down in all the churches"
What I'm trying to get across is that as christian men we should be striving to be Mr Meaty regardless wether were single or married? So if God has given you singleness then make use of it, read, pray, learn, encourage and always be happy and content in the position God has put you in.
1 Cor 7:24 "Brothers, each man as responsible to God, should remain in the situation God called him to"
I believe Mr Meaty is
Can you be Mr Meaty!!!! I started a group on facebook if you want to join Mr Meaty, I hope to take this group beyond facebook and meet in a real group in the future. I have to say becoming Mr Meaty is not an easy task an requires hard work and encouragement, hence starting this group :]

I believe Mr Meaty is
- All the fruits of the spirit (Gal 5:22)
- Gives thanks in all things (1 Thess 5:16,17,18)
- Mr Meaty loves God wether he is single or not
- Mr Meaty reads he's bible
- Mr Meaty prays

--> Abortion
Just thought id plug this on my blog, I think is a pretty good thing to support. Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute is celebrating the 60th year of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Well basically its a petition that you can sign online, that will be sent forth to the UN General Assembly that will call for a universal right to abortion. It will happen in December so there is not much time left, so if you feel strongly about this issue or just want to support the petition anyway go here

--> Dr Phil might say
Dr Phil: Do have any idea or any vision about what this is doing to ya kids? Do they know about your 3rd credit card, or have you hid it from there lives.
Carol: I am not sure, they may have seen it. My kids understand me better now once we bought them the Playstation.
Dr Phil: Do you actually believe giving your children a Playstation has made them understand you better?
Carol: Tobias and I are were actually considering giving our son charlie a credit card for primary school.
Dr Phil: Good gracious me that is absurd. You cant do that! What sort of effect do you think that will have on Charlies well being and self development? I think you better listen to me otherwise i cant give you the holiday to the moon.
Tobias: Charlie is a special little kid, a special gift to Carol and I. We want to reward him for he's work. He knows how to use a credit card, when he's seen mummy and daddy using it at the grocer store
Dr Phil: I cant believe what I'm hearing hear, You are playing a fools game with ya son. Let me ask you a question Tobias and Carol, do you guys actually have a brain? I say what is going on inside your head? What do you think about your parents motives Charlie?
Charlie: Mmmm, i mean i know how to use a credit card. there pretty sweet cool.
Dr Phil: Well you gotta work this out with ya kid, this to me is a parents to son ball of confusion. You will need to work hard to create a good environment for Charlie to live and learn the lessons he needs to learn for when he grows up.
Dr Phil: How about a return trip to the moon with all expenses paid, Tobias, Carol and Charlie would you enjoy that? We hope you can sort these problems out, but in the mean time spend some quality time with each other on this ridiculous holiday.
Dr Phil: Coming up after the break we are going to speak to a Mum and Dad who have neglected there own children.

--> Man and God
We can talk to the creator of the universe and act as if its nothing
We honor and fear men and ignore God
We claim to love God and hate our brothers
We live a bliss to the facts while living completely at Gods mercy
We take our possessions and wealth and forgot the giver
We are great sinners but God is a great savior
We should praise God
We honor and fear men and ignore God
We claim to love God and hate our brothers
We live a bliss to the facts while living completely at Gods mercy
We take our possessions and wealth and forgot the giver
We are great sinners but God is a great savior
We should praise God

How can we respond to Gods Guidance?
Now this is a topic iv been thinking a lot about lately. Seeking guidance from God is something that is pretty important in every Christians life id say. There are a few things lately that iv been sinking guidance for from God, and i suppose more to the more point seeking a somewhat obvious answer. Now from what iv been told God usually guides people in a couple of ways.
1) Through the bible
2) through people, christian friends, parents, older Christians who are wise etc.
3) And through the Holy Spirit.
Now to be honest sometimes i just can't work out what Gods will is and it leaves me puzzled and feeling rather depressed. Tho we can be certain that God does guide us, which is very encouraging even when you don't really understand how or why. But i think for me especially at the moment, I'm struggling to see exactly what Gods will is for a certain situation?? How do i respond to Gods guidance or how do i come in line with it, or to feel as tho I'm doing the right thing?? Sometimes someone will tell me this then another that, and this confuses me to who i should believe?? If these people are possibly helping me in being guided then it becomes tricky??

Humility??
Something iv been thinking a lot about lately is this word Humility?? Now i find this quite a hard thing to tackle. I personally find one of the hardest lessons for a christian to learn is humility(just simply being nice and humble :] I find the idea about being humble difficult, If you think about it arrogance plays a huge part in almost every area of our lives. I mean for example; am i actually being arrogant in the fact that I'm writing this article about being humble?? Being humble is such a godly thing to chase after id say, and by Gods grace we can only strive for a life filled with more and more humility! Don't get me wrong tho, i know a heap of christian people that are very very humble, so it is possible :] thank God :] But if you think about all the areas of your life where you don't really show Godly humility, i find the list piles up rather quickly... sadly.

Big Red
Basically big red is not that exciting really, On Saturdays a large group of us including myself and a few other mates play soccer down at the Uni oval. Fairly often some pretty random people turn up and play with us, and know one seems to know who they are or where there from. But don't get me wrong its good to have new people come along to create friendships amongst us. But one week some real big guy turned up and he played wearing a big red jumper, hence big red. Me and Pryderi came up with the name big red.
